Kathryn Hill was 26 when her partially nude body was found on November 5, 1990, in the rear parking lot of a truck stop off exit 5 of the Ohio Turnpike in Lake Township, Wood County. Known also by the aliases Chantilly, Scooter, and Wendy Turner, she was reported to have been working as a prostitute around truck stops in the area. Her injuries included a right occipital scalp laceration, a contusion to the right eye, and abrasions to the nose and chin, but the autopsy did not determine an exact cause of death.

DNA recovered from the scene has been entered into CODIS, but no one has been conclusively linked to the killing. Kathryn’s death fits a pattern seen in several other unsolved cases from the late 1980s and early 1990s involving victims found beaten or strangled near interstates and truck stops; investigators have examined the possibility of a serial offender sometimes referred to as the Ohio Prostitute Killer or Dr. No. The Wood County Prosecutor’s Office and the Lake Township Police Department continue to seek tips and leads.

If anyone has information about Kathryn, her movements that week, or contacts who worked at the exit 5 truck stop in early November 1990, please come forward.
