Pietro Semadeni, 51 and a Cincinnati resident, was killed on March 22, 1990, while driving on Interstate 71 near the Blair overpass. A roughly six-pound piece of concrete about eight inches wide was deliberately dropped or thrown from the overpass, crashed through the windshield and struck Semadeni, causing immediate fatal injuries as he sat behind the wheel.
No suspects have ever been publicly identified and the case remains an unsolved homicide. The Cincinnati Police Department continues to investigate, and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office has issued public appeals for information and tips over the years. The attack is described as a senseless, random act of violence that killed a motorist going about his day.
If anyone remembers unusual activity near the Blair overpass on or around March 22, 1990, or has tips that could help identify who dropped that piece of concrete, please contact the Cincinnati Police Department or the Ohio Attorney General’s tip line.
