Robert Juarez, 28, was shot and killed on the morning of July 10, 2008, while sitting in his parked car in front of his home on Logan Avenue in Barrio Logan, San Diego. An unidentified man approached the vehicle and shot Juarez multiple times, then ran to a waiting vehicle driven by another person. Witnesses described the getaway car as a 2006 pearl white Cadillac DTS with chrome rims; the driver was reported to be wearing a blue construction hard hat, prompting speculation the suspects tried to disguise themselves as workers.

The San Diego Police Department and San Diego County Crime Stoppers have repeatedly appealed for tips and offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest. Juarez’s family and friends hold annual candlelight vigils at his residence to remember him and keep the case in the public eye.
