Steven Kinney was 17 when he died on September 2, 1989, after being struck by a vehicle on River Road in Milan, Ohio. He had been at a party on River Road where an altercation reportedly occurred; after leaving on foot he was hit by a car.
The circumstances before and after the collision remain unclear and the death is considered suspicious. The Erie County Sheriff’s Office investigated but the case stalled for lack of conclusive evidence and witnesses. The Ohio Attorney General’s Cold Case Unit is involved and authorities continue to seek information from anyone who might know something about that night.
If anyone has memories of that party, saw someone walking on River Road that night, or noticed a vehicle matching any unusual description, please contact investigators with what you know.
