Richard Lane, a Columbus resident, was killed on August 18, 1989. His body was found behind 441 Gilbert Avenue in Columbus with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. The death was investigated as a homicide in Franklin County.
Decades later the case remains unsolved. Local authorities including the Columbus Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation have continued efforts to generate leads and increase public awareness, but the motive and the circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear.
Does anyone who lived in the area in August 1989 or who knew Richard remember anything that could help bring new information to investigators?
