Dudley Truett Scott, 52, of Splendora, Texas, disappeared on December 16, 1994. Scott, who had Down syndrome and was mute, needed medication for disorientation and seizures. He was last seen walking into a wooded area near his home on Creekwood Drive while reportedly upset.
Believed to possibly have been trying to reach relatives in Gladewater, Texas, nearly 200 miles away, Scott carried two wallets, a homemade identification card, and a Swiss Army knife when he vanished. He was wearing blue short-sleeved coveralls, blue boxer shorts, and brown lace-up boots. Extensive searches have not located him, and authorities suspect foul play may be involved. The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Texas Department of Public Safety have been involved; family DNA has been submitted to help identify any remains.
If anyone knew Dudley, saw him on or after December 16, 1994, or has information about his route or contacts in Gladewater, please come forward.
