Kristina Renae Bishop was 13 when she vanished from Columbia, Missouri, on the morning of October 19, 1994. She said goodbye to her sister and a friend and left home to walk to Jefferson Junior High School but never arrived for classes. A witness reported a four-door vehicle stopped on Kristina’s street; the witness saw her talk briefly with the male driver, then get into the car, which drove away.

At the time she disappeared she may have been wearing a white shirt, a blue jean jacket, and pink sneakers, and was carrying a backpack with her school books. Investigators later learned she had missed school the two days before her disappearance and that she had run away the month prior after an argument, when she was found a week later in Oklahoma. Her mother said they were not fighting at the time of this second disappearance. Authorities have noted Kristina may have been with a 22-year-old male companion around the time she went missing, and her case is classified as an endangered missing child.

The Columbia Police Department remains the lead agency; the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Missing Persons Clearinghouse and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children have circulated information and age-progressed images. Does anyone who lived in Columbia in 1994 remember seeing Kristina or a four-door vehicle that morning?
