On April 4, 1977, Maida Ann Ridenour-Johnigan, 23, and Raymond Cruzado, 22, were found dead in a room at the Grandview Motel on West Erie Avenue in Lorain, Ohio. Motel staff discovered the bodies and both were pronounced dead at the scene. They had last been seen alive on April 3, 1977 and were killed sometime later that night; both were found with injuries described as consistent with homicide.
Maida Ridenour-Johnigan, also known as Maida Parker, was a Black woman, 5 feet 3 inches tall and 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. Cruzado was a 22-year-old Hispanic male with red hair. The Lorain Police Department and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation keep the case open and are asking the public for information that might help identify whoever was responsible.
If anyone remembers Maida or Raymond, their movements on April 3–4, 1977, or has other information about that night, please contact the Lorain Police Department or submit a tip to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.
