Nettie Brown, a Dayton resident, was killed on July 19, 1976, in Montgomery County. Her body was found near a dumpster, wrapped in a bloody blanket; she had been bludgeoned and stabbed. Neighbors say the discovery came that morning after police had earlier responded to a report of gunshots in the area but found nothing at the time.
The case remains unsolved. The Dayton Police Department continues to investigate Nettie’s homicide as part of its cold case work, and the Ohio Attorney General’s office has joined public appeals for information. Authorities say even small tips could help bring justice and provide closure for Nettie’s family.
If anyone knew Nettie, heard or saw anything around July 19, 1976, or has information related to this case, please contact the Dayton Police Department or submit a tip to law enforcement.
