Jennifer Conroy was 15 when she and her seven-month-old daughter Ashley vanished from Kansas City, Missouri, after leaving their grandmother’s home on December 14, 1993. Jennifer told family she was going to a friend’s house and would be back in about an hour; she took only a single diaper and one bottle of formula for Ashley. A neighbor saw them get into a pickup truck with an unidentified man, and neither mother nor child was seen again.

All other belongings were left behind, the pickup has never been located, and the man has never been identified. Foul play is suspected and the Kansas City Police Department still lists the case as open. Few tangible leads have been reported, which has made the investigation difficult and painful for the family.
