Tauvares Wooten was 17 when he was shot and killed in San Francisco’s Bayview-Hunters Point on March 9, 2008. The shooting happened near Silver and Revere avenues at about 11:40 a.m. after Wooten had just exited a local store. He was struck multiple times, taken to a nearby hospital, and died shortly thereafter.

The killing remains an open homicide investigation. No arrests have been announced, and police say community cooperation is critical; similar cases in the neighborhood have often gone unsolved because of few witnesses and limited engagement. If anyone was near Silver and Revere avenues that morning or has information that could help resolve this case, contact the San Francisco Police.
