Clark Toshiro Handa was a 3-year-old taken from his family’s home in Fairfield, California, on the night of August 22, 1984. He was sleeping in a bedroom with five family members when an abductor removed him and left a ransom note demanding $25,000. The family complied with the demand, but the abductors never returned Clark.

The case produced few leads for decades. In 2016 Michael Anthony Blas Fejarang, described as a family friend, was charged in connection with the abduction and death; he later confessed to the abduction and murder and pled no contest to first-degree murder. Clark’s remains have not been located, and his family has not recovered his body.
