Judie Kay Lowery Munguia was 32 when she left her Odessa, Texas home around 1 a.m. on May 28, 1981, saying she planned to visit a friend in Oklahoma City and would be gone for several days. She drove a gray 1977 Lincoln Continental and took two small pieces of luggage, but she never reached her destination and was reported missing five days later.
On November 14, 1981, Judie’s car was found abandoned at Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City. Investigators determined the vehicle had been parked there since June 7. No sign of Judie was in the car, but five spent .22 caliber bullet casings were found in the back seat, creating suspicion of foul play. Her family has maintained she would not have abandoned her young son and continues to seek answers.
What details about Judie’s movements between May 28 and June 7, 1981 might help piece this timeline together, and did anyone see her or the Lincoln near airports or highways in that period?
