On Halloween night 1990, 24-year-old Rebecca Lynn Colley went with a friend to the M&J Club at 3800 Old State Highway 51 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Inside the bar a man reportedly began to flirt aggressively; after Rebecca rejected him she and her friend were leaving. Rebecca went back into the club to retrieve cigarettes and a lighter and was confronted by three women. One struck her, knocking her down, and the other two joined in, beating her in the parking lot; one assailant reportedly used a bottle.
In the weeks after the assault Rebecca developed severe headaches and sought medical care. On January 15, 1991, while at St. Francis hospital awaiting transport for an MRI, she collapsed and died. An autopsy found a chronic subdural hematoma caused by the earlier injuries. Jurisdictional confusion between law enforcement agencies hampered the initial investigation, the bartender was a witness, and no one has been charged. Rebecca left two young children, a six-year-old girl and a toddler, and the three women who carried out the fatal attack have never been identified.
Does anyone have information about the Halloween night assault at the M&J Club or the women involved?
