Wendy Brown Stevenson, age 8, was last seen December 29, 1969, on a Pompano Beach, Florida, beach after meeting a friend, Peggy Rahn. The girls decided to walk to a nearby ice cream shop and were last seen about 1:00 p.m. walking toward the parking lot; a store clerk reported seeing them with a man who bought them ice cream. The man was described as Caucasian, mid-20s, about six feet tall, with sandy blond hair and a humped nose, driving a metallic blue Chevrolet.

Multiple reported sightings of the two girls with a man continued in the days after they vanished, including at a 7-Eleven, but neither Wendy nor Peggy has ever been found. Investigators later considered several suspects, among them Kenneth Guy Shilts and Gerard John Schaefer; Schaefer wrote a 1989 letter claiming responsibility for the murders but was never charged and was killed in prison in 1995. Extensive searches were conducted, including removing sections of a seawall, yet no remains were recovered and the case remains unsolved.

Did anyone on the forum grow up in Pompano Beach in 1969 and remember the girls, the metallic blue Chevrolet, or the man seen with them?
