Kelsey Emily Collins was 18 when she left her Everett, Washington, home on May 9, 2009, planning to meet a friend in downtown Seattle. She was last seen about 5:30 p.m. wearing a red, white, and black Echo athletic jacket, a pink t-shirt, blue jeans, and black Jordan sneakers, carrying a small black purse with ID, a hairbrush, and her cell phone. The phone was off or its battery died around 8 p.m., and she never arrived at her destination.
Kelsey had been a Mariner High School student in special education and was described as biracial, with green eyes and light brown curly hair she sometimes straightened. She bore several surgical scars and had ear and right-side nose piercings. Kelsey had a history of running away and involvement in sex trafficking; in 2008 she testified before a federal grand jury against an alleged pimp, Donnico Tyrel Johnson, and her family believes her disappearance is connected to that cooperation. A 2012 search of woods near Jefferson Park Golf Course in Seattle produced no leads. Authorities continue to investigate.
If anyone knew Kelsey’s movements, associates, or where she spent time in Seattle or Everett in May 2009, please come forward with information.
