Gregory Jones was 15 when he and his close friend Chris Garcia, 16, were found shot to death in San Francisco on June 30, 2007. Their bodies were discovered together at about 4:30 a.m. by a homeless man searching for scrap metal in a desolate part of the city, a location that underscored the area’s vulnerability and complicated the investigation.
The killings fit a larger pattern of youth violence in San Francisco at the time. The San Francisco Police Department has appealed for witnesses and offered rewards of $50,000 to $250,000 for information that could help resolve the case, but progress has been hindered by a scarcity of willing witnesses and the circumstances of the scene. The deaths remain an unresolved and painful chapter for the community.
If anyone knew Gregory or Chris, or saw anything in that area around June 30, 2007, please contact the homicide detail with any information.
