Cheryl Nevon Williams, 43, disappeared from Chapel Hill, North Carolina in early spring 2002. The last confirmed contact was March 1, 2002. She was a Black woman about 5 feet 2 inches and 120 pounds, with black hair, brown eyes and a two-inch scar on her right forearm.

Cheryl was born and raised in Chapel Hill and was well known in the community. She led a transient lifestyle and struggled with alcohol and crack cocaine use. She frequented the north side of Chapel Hill, including areas linked to drug activity. Just before she vanished her mother saw her with a black eye; family members said Cheryl agreed to move back home and a roommate later reported seeing her bags packed by the door, but Cheryl never arrived at her mother’s house and was not heard from again.

Authorities have said foul play may have been involved and the investigation remains open. If anyone knew Cheryl, saw her in Chapel Hill around March 1, 2002, or has information that could help, please come forward.
