Yul Demetrius Kennedy was 32 when he was last seen at his home on the 7800 block of Monett Street in Metairie, Louisiana, on November 28, 2000. He reportedly left intending to drive to the Westbank but never returned. Two days later his vehicle was found abandoned about ten blocks from his home; there was no sign of him or obvious explanation for his disappearance.
Kennedy is described as a Black male, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet 0 inches tall, about 200 to 210 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He sometimes wore a mustache, beard, or goatee. Distinguishing marks include scars on his right arm and below his nose, a mole on his left leg, and two upper incisors capped with gold crowns. He was last reported wearing a blue and white shirt, a beige jacket, Girbaud jeans, Nike tennis shoes, and a thick gold rope chain with a cross pendant.
The Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office classifies the case as endangered missing. Few substantive leads have been made public and the case has gone cold. If anyone knew Yul Kennedy, saw him around November 28, 2000, or recognizes those distinguishing features, can you share what you know?
