Kuryakin Burris, 37, was shot and killed in Long Beach, California on April 10, 2007. Officers responded to reports of gunfire during daylight hours and found Burris with a severe gunshot wound to his upper body; he was taken to a nearby hospital and pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Investigators say he may have been confronted in an alley before he was shot and that the suspect fled on foot. Authorities initially withheld Burris’s identity while notifying family.
The motive remains unclear and the Long Beach Police Homicide Detail urged anyone with information to contact detectives or submit anonymous tips through LA Crime Stoppers. Did anyone see activity in the alley or other footage from the area that day?
