Ronald Dunson, 47, was shot and killed on December 22, 2015, on the 6600 block of Crowdon Street in Philadelphia. Officers arrived about 11:06 p.m. and found Dunson with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest and shoulder. He was placed in a patrol vehicle and taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead later that night.
Investigators say the shooter was an unknown Black male wearing a ski mask; no motive has been identified and no arrests have been announced. Dunson lived on the 6600 block of Ross Street. His killing remains unsolved amid a year when most Philadelphia homicides were gun-related, underscoring persistent challenges in solving violent crimes.
