Manuel Andrade, a 36-year-old Hispanic father of two, was fatally shot on the evening of Friday, October 2, 2015, in North Philadelphia. The shooting occurred just before 7:15 p.m. on the 2100 block of West Master Street, about a block from his home, as he was returning from work as a deliveryman for Flowers & Company in Center City. Police described the incident as an attempted robbery; Andrade was shot in the abdomen and found wounded inside the doorway of a residence on the block.

Emergency services transported him to Hahnemann University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:47 p.m. that night. Those who knew him remembered him as selfless, kind, humble, and hardworking; his employer started a GoFundMe to help with funeral costs and colleagues recalled his excitement about taking his children trick-or-treating that Halloween. Philadelphia police sought two suspects in connection with the armed robbery and shooting, but there have been no public announcements of arrests or identified suspects, and the case remains listed among the city’s unsolved 2015 murders.

If anyone saw activity on West Master Street around 7:15 p.m. on October 2, 2015, or has information about the attempted robbery, please come forward.
