On the evening of Monday, September 7, 2015, 39-year-old Rasheed Wingfield was shot several times in the abdomen on the 7100 block of North Uber Street in Philadelphia. Police arrived after a report of a person with a gun and found Wingfield on the street; emergency responders pronounced him dead at 8:55 p.m. He lived on the 1800 block of Penfield Street at the time of the killing.

Investigators reported no identified motive in the immediate aftermath, and no arrests or publicly named suspects were announced. Authorities offered a reward for information that could lead to an arrest and conviction, and the investigation remained open.
