Tony Mcdougal, 33, was fatally shot on February 12, 2007, in San Francisco’s Western Addition. The shooting began near Hayes and Baker Streets while Mcdougal was driving; despite being wounded he continued driving and then crashed into a bus shelter at Haight and Fillmore Streets. That crash happened at the scene of a different shooting that had occurred about an hour earlier and was already under police investigation. Mcdougal was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The case remains unresolved. The Mayor’s Office has offered a $75,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and prosecution. The killing occurred during a period of heightened violence in the Western Addition, which had seen multiple shootings and stabbings in the preceding weeks. If anyone has information about Mcdougal’s movements that day or the events near Hayes and Baker or Haight and Fillmore, please come forward.
