Shortly after 11 p.m. on May 9, 2014, Philadelphia police responded to reports of gunfire on the 1300 block of West Clearfield Street. Officers found 27-year-old Rashaun Lewis, a Black man, seated in the driver’s seat of his white Dodge Avenger with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Temple University Hospital and died that night.

Lewis lived on the same block where he was shot. The Philadelphia Police Department has not publicly identified any suspects or announced arrests; the case remains unsolved and the investigation is ongoing.
