Christopher Herrmann, a 22-year-old business student at Chico State, was shot and killed outside his home in Chico, California, on December 5, 2003. He was found face down in his driveway with a gunshot wound to the head. Investigators found drugs in his home and have said his alleged involvement in drug sales may have been connected to the killing, but no arrests were ever made.

Chico police spent nearly a year investigating but reported no witnesses or clear leads, and the case remains unsolved. Friends and family remembered Herrmann for his kind heart and close relationships. The Chico Police Department continues to list the homicide as a priority in the hope new information will emerge.
