Matthew Green was 24 and lived on Monument Street when he was shot in late-hour violence in North Philadelphia in September 2011. The shooting occurred near a gas station at Cecil B. Moore and Ridge avenues. Officers arriving at the scene found Green with multiple gunshot wounds; he was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and died the next day. Two other men, aged 22 and 24, were also shot and treated at Temple University Hospital and survived.
Philadelphia police identified Green as the deceased and investigated the scene, but no arrests were announced and no motive was publicly disclosed. Subsequent years brought no reported updates, leaving the case unsolved and key questions about who was responsible and why unanswered.
If anyone has information about that night or knew Matthew, please come forward with what you know.
