On the afternoon of April 6, 2011, 19-year-old Stephon Green of the Oak Hill area was found in the street at LaPlace Street and Centre Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Hill District with multiple gunshot wounds. The shooting occurred shortly after 1:30 p.m. and prompted a nearby elementary school to be put on lockdown while police investigated. Witnesses reported a forest green Nissan Armada with tinted windows speeding away from the scene.
Investigators recovered a videotape that showed a man later identified as Calvin Kane, also known as CK, shooting Green multiple times before fleeing on foot. Kane was charged with murder and scheduled to stand trial. Two other men present that day, Kedrin Hoody Turner and Ernest Pickles Harris, were implicated and later faced federal firearms charges; the murder weapon was matched to a firearm Harris had been seen brandishing in a separate incident. Bafata B Sullivan was identified as the owner of the gun allegedly used by Kane and faced federal firearms charges before he died of natural causes.
Does anyone have information about Stephon Green, his movements that afternoon, or the green Nissan Armada seen leaving the area?
