Jennifer Rayleen Casper-Ross, 30, vanished in the early morning hours of May 5, 2005, in Reno, Nevada. A former professional ballerina turned biomedical engineering student, she struggled with bipolar disorder and substance abuse and had been hospitalized previously. The night before she disappeared her husband, Sean Ross, said he came home to find her intoxicated with cuts on her wrists; she had packed a bag with clothes and family photos and left two handwritten notes, one stained with blood, with instructions about her son and possessions.
In the hours before she went missing Jennifer was at the Peppermill Hotel and Casino with a friend. Around 5:30 a.m. she took a taxi to the Reno Sparks Cab Company near the 400 block of Gentry Way where her mother worked; when her mother was not there she fled without paying, broke her high-heeled shoes, and was last seen climbing a fence at the rear of the business. She had called her father in Las Vegas saying she needed to go there. She was reportedly barefoot, wearing a tan sweater and blue jeans, carrying a red shoulder bag. Identifying details include a J.G. tattoo on her right foot, double-pierced ears, and a pierced navel.
Are there readers who knew Jennifer, saw her that morning, or have information about movements between Reno and those California counties?
