Larry Vann, a 30-year-old Black man, was murdered in Philadelphia on October 4, 2010. The homicide remains unsolved and open, with no arrests announced. Vann’s death was one of many unresolved killings in Philadelphia that year, when homicides were especially concentrated among young adults aged 18 to 34 and African Americans were disproportionately represented among victims. Most of the city’s killings in 2010 were focused in a few police districts, a pattern that contributed to investigative challenges and many cases remaining open.

The lack of resolution in Vann’s case highlights broader issues raised that year about resource allocation, investigative capacity, and the need for stronger community engagement and preventive measures to address persistent violence. If anyone has information about Larry Vann or the circumstances of his death, please come forward.
