On June 1, 2001, 20-year-old Andrew Witherow was killed in a drive-by shooting on Highway 99 in Sacramento County, California. Witherow was a passenger in a car driven by his friend Loc Huynh when another vehicle pulled up alongside and fired multiple shots as they were driving north near the Fruitridge exit late that Saturday night. Both Witherow and Huynh were wounded; Huynh called 911 and stopped the car in the middle of the highway. Several other vehicles then collided with their stopped car, which burst into flames. Huynh escaped but Witherow was unable to do so and died from the incident. No arrests have been made and the case remains unsolved, with investigators citing few leads, limited witnesses, and insufficient evidence. Witherow’s sister Julia Robinson has spoken about the family’s struggle for closure.

Did anyone in the Sacramento area see or hear anything about the shooting or the vehicles involved that night?
