Esteban Zavala, 60, was murdered on September 18, 1999, and his body was found dumped on Quarry Road near Central Road in Apple Valley, California. Investigators say Zavala had connections with Gennie Gallardo and her family in Victorville, but few other details about his background or the killing have been released.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner’s Department classifies the case as a cold homicide. Authorities describe a lack of witnesses or clear evidence as a major obstacle and continue to appeal for information, asking anyone with tips to contact the Sheriff’s Department or the WeTip anonymous hotline.

Does anyone remember Zavala, his movements in 1999, or connections to the Victorville area that could help revive the investigation?
