Nakeia McCafferty, 32, was found dead on February 15, 2008, behind a chain-link fence near a vacant rowhouse at 5440 Market Street in Philadelphia. She had suffered multiple stab wounds to her face and neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Nakeia had been living with substance abuse issues and spending much of her time on the streets. Her mother said Nakeia cycled between brief returns home and going back out; all six of Nakeia’s children were placed in the mother’s custody. Neighbors and community members held a small memorial at the site where she was found.
Who in West Philadelphia that winter might have seen or heard something that could help clarify what happened to Nakeia?
