Travis John Killen, 18, of Flora Vista, New Mexico, was last seen on November 23, 1997 after leaving home near U.S. Route 550 in his gray 1983 Ford Escort. The next day the car was found abandoned in a dirt water culvert on Navajo Route 36 near the Chaco River, but searches at the scene turned up no sign of Travis and he has not been heard from since.
At the time he disappeared Travis was wearing a black tank top, blue or black work jeans, and black sneakers. He had scars on his right arm, right index finger, and earlobes from multiple piercings, plus tattoos on his left shoulder and right hand. Authorities list him as an endangered missing person and foul play is suspected.
San Juan County Sheriff’s Department is handling the case. If anyone remembers seeing Travis, his car, or anything relevant around November 23–24, 1997, please contact the Sheriff’s Office with information.
