On November 2, 2015, four members of the same household on Refuge Road in Pendleton, South Carolina — 60-year-old Cathy Scott, her husband Michael Scott, 58, Cathy's mother Violet Taylor, 82, and Michael’s mother Barbara Scott, 80 — were found shot and stabbed to death. The scene was described as gruesome and gory, and the killings left the small community reeling as the investigation stalled and the case grew cold.

A major development came in December 2023 when investigators arrested Cathy Scott’s daughter Amy Vilardi and Amy’s husband Rosmore Ross Vilardi. Both were charged with four counts of murder and were denied bond, though authorities have not released an official motive. The arrests turned a long-unsolved, shocking crime into a deeply personal family case now proceeding through the courts.

If anyone knew the family, saw unusual activity near Refuge Road in late 2015, or has information about Amy or Ross Vilardi, please share what is known with investigators.
