On December 23, 2017, at about 2:30 a.m. a white Chrysler 300 driven by Stephanie Means was attacked while traveling near the intersection of Boyd Street and West Baxter Avenue in Knoxville, Tennessee. An unknown vehicle pulled up to the Chrysler and began firing; Means attempted to flee and ultimately collided with a fence at the corner of Baxter and McSpadden, then struck another fence on McSpadden Street before coming to rest. Investigators recovered more than a dozen shell casings along the path of the chase.

Alfred Lamar Griffin, 37, suffered serious injuries in the shooting and subsequent crashes. He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center and died six days later on December 29, 2017. Means survived her injuries. The Knoxville Police Department and community groups issued public appeals, but no arrests have been announced and no suspects have been publicly identified.

What information might help break the case open for Griffin’s family and the community — did anyone see the chase or notice a suspicious vehicle in that area that night?
