Ray Muniz was shot and killed on July 25, 1995, near a reservoir water tank at the extreme northern end of Etiwanda Avenue in Rancho Cucamonga, California. His body was found in a secluded area whose isolation may have hindered initial detection and investigation. Law enforcement describes the death as a deliberate act rather than an accident.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has kept the case open as a cold case because investigators lack sufficient evidence or leads to identify a suspect. Authorities have repeatedly asked the community for tips and continue to accept information via the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail or anonymous tips through WeTip. Muniz’s family remains without answers; any detail about movements that day or persons seen in that area could be important.
Did anyone in the Rancho Cucamonga area around Etiwanda Avenue on July 25, 1995, see or hear anything that might help investigators?
