Gary Cooley, 57, was found dead at his East Knoxville home on Alma Avenue after a coworker went to check on him on the morning of April 29, 2014, when he failed to arrive for a shift at the Knox Housing Partnership. The coworker discovered the front door ajar and called police. Officers found Cooley and a 46-year-old woman identified as Regina Keck deceased inside the residence, both with apparent gunshot wounds.
Evidence at the scene suggested forced entry, and police treated the scene as a double homicide. The nature of Cooley and Keck’s relationship was not immediately clear to authorities. No arrests have been announced, and the killings remain unsolved despite periodic reviews by the Knoxville Police Department.
If anyone has information about Cooley, Keck, their movements around April 29, 2014, or the Alma Avenue residence, please share it with investigators.
