Conrad Wise, 57, was shot to death while walking home from Food City in Knoxville on the evening of July 17, 2013. He was found in Malcolm Martin Park on Western Avenue with the groceries he had just bought, and investigators quickly ruled out robbery because his personal belongings were not taken.

The Knoxville Police Department opened an investigation but the case went cold. Friends and family held a remembrance in the park a year later to call attention to the fact that no arrests had been made.
