Marina Ruggiero, 20, was murdered on August 24, 1991, while on a family trip to San Luis Obispo for a friend’s wedding. She left the wedding reception to return to the hotel and was found stabbed to death in her hotel room about 45 minutes later. There were no signs of forced entry, and investigators have not established a clear motive or identified suspects.

The investigation went cold despite law enforcement efforts over the years. Cold case detectives later reopened the file and sought to apply new forensic techniques to the limited evidence collected, but the murder remains unsolved and Marina’s family continues to seek answers.

If anyone attended that wedding or stayed at the same hotel and remembers seeing Marina or anything unusual that night, please come forward with information.
