On January 19, 2017, 18-year-old Jordan Jarmon was fatally shot in the early morning at an apartment complex in the 8000 block of Creekbend Drive in Houston. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found Jarmon with multiple gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses said a group of individuals fled the area immediately after the shooting.
Investigators have linked the incident to a possible dispute between local gangs, noting increased gang activity in the months before the homicide, but no suspects were immediately identified despite extensive interviews and evidence collection. Jarmon’s family said he hoped to attend college and pursue a career in engineering and that he was active in community programs aimed at steering youth away from violence. His death intensified concerns about youth and gang violence in the neighborhood.
Anyone with information about the shooting or who knew Jordan is asked to come forward to help the investigation.
