Fabian Sonora, 21, of Fort Worth, Texas, was killed on January 15, 2017, during a year that saw a sharp rise in violence across the city. Fort Worth recorded 70 homicides in 2017, the highest total in more than a decade, and most of those deaths, including Sonora’s, were reported in the central division that covers downtown Fort Worth.
Reports describe many of the city’s homicides that year as stemming from arguments or altercations in which firearms were frequently used, and Sonora’s death was included among those incidents. City leaders expressed concern about police resources and whether enough was being done to address the spike and its underlying causes.
Does anyone have information about the circumstances of Sonora’s death or knew him personally?
