George Jackson, 21, was fatally shot in Houston on September 22, 2016. Around 2:30 a.m., Jackson and a friend were driving near 11402 Beechnut when their vehicle struck a curb. They pulled into the parking lot of the Leawood Plaza apartment complex so Jackson could inspect the damage.

While he was examining the vehicle, an unknown male approached and a verbal confrontation broke out that quickly escalated. A gunshot was heard; the friend, still inside the car, saw the suspect flee on foot. The friend drove Jackson to West Houston Medical Center, but Jackson died of his injuries.
