Police tied the killing to a dispute over a drug transaction involving David Ortiz, 30, and Ignacio Jimenez Jr., 52. Authorities say Ortiz accused Pantoja of running over Jimenez with a vehicle days earlier; that accusation allegedly led Ortiz to pistol-whip and begin stabbing Pantoja, with Jimenez joining the attack while Robert Anthony Casarez stood watch. Officers have said Pantoja had gone with another individual to buy drugs from Ortiz when the confrontation began.
