Daniel Torres, 30, was fatally shot on October 19, 2015, in Houston’s East Side during a violent encounter tied to an attempted robbery. The incident occurred while another man, Jesse Richards, waited at a bus stop and was shot in the chest; Richards survived his injury enough to be identified as a victim in the same confrontation. Reports say the suspects had planned to rob Richards, and Torres and an accomplice, David Alexander Zuniga, were involved in that plan. Torres was charged and awaiting trial for his role in the events surrounding the robbery and shooting at the time he was killed.
Key questions remain about who fired the fatal shots and the sequence of events that turned the planned robbery into a deadly confrontation. If anyone witnessed the shooting at the bus stop or knew the people involved, please share what was seen or heard.
