Manuel Sanchez was 25 when he was shot and killed on October 8, 2015, outside a sports bar on Richmond Avenue near Fountainview in southwest Houston. The shooting occurred about 10:50 p.m. as Sanchez was leaving the bar with his girlfriend after a night out. Sanchez was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where he later died.

The suspects were described as Hispanic males in their mid to late twenties who fled in a silver or gray pickup truck. Witnesses said there had been no visible argument involving Sanchez and the group inside the bar, so the motive remained unclear. The Houston Police Department appealed for help and pursued surveillance footage and witness statements; no immediate arrests were reported at the time.
