Cornelius Williams, 35, was fatally shot on August 8, 2017, while driving in northeast Houston. The attack occurred around 7 p.m. near Moss Oaks Drive. Williams was in his vehicle with his 6-year-old nephew when an unknown assailant opened fire, striking Williams at least once. He attempted to flee but crashed into a fire hydrant a few blocks away.
Witnesses removed the child from the car; the boy was unharmed. Williams was transported to Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital, where he later died. Police have not identified the shooter or described the suspect vehicle, and the case remains open as investigators ask anyone with information to contact the Houston Police Department’s Homicide Division or Crime Stoppers.
Did anyone in the area that evening see a vehicle or person that could help investigators?
