On February 7, 2015, at about 9:30 p.m., 42-year-old Jorge Amador and his wife were closing Riccy Beauty Salon at 6118 Clarewood Drive in southwest Houston when two masked, armed men approached and demanded money. During the confrontation the assailants pushed Amador’s wife to the ground; Amador intervened and was shot. The attackers fled in a gray or white four-door car, possibly a Toyota Corolla. Amador was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital and died of his injuries the next day.

The Houston Police Department described the suspects as one Hispanic male and one Black male, both about 25 to 30 years old, roughly 5 feet 10 inches tall, wearing black clothing. The case remains unsolved and investigators are seeking information to identify and apprehend the suspects.
