On May 18, 2014, 26-year-old Tyreal Breaux Sr. was fatally shot in Houston, Texas, during an attempted robbery in the 14600 block of South Main Street at about 4:30 p.m. Breaux and 20-year-old Desmond Akens approached Courtney Lyons during a narcotics transaction in a parking lot; Lyons produced a firearm and shot both Breaux and Akens. Breaux was pronounced dead at the scene; Akens was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital and later died.
A third suspect in the attempted robbery was not injured. Lyons fled the scene in a dark grey, early 2000s Honda Accord, was later identified as the shooter, and the case was referred to a Harris County grand jury. Breaux, born in 1988, was laid to rest at Paradise North Cemetery in Houston.
Does anyone have information about Breaux’s life or the events that day that could help clarify what happened?
