On April 10, 2014, Melissa Ann Guerra, 23, was found fatally shot in a southwest Houston apartment alongside her 23-year-old boyfriend, Jose Miguel Salinas. Both victims had sustained gunshot wounds; authorities were called after reports of gunfire. A neighbor who heard a baby crying discovered the scene and found the couple’s five-month-old infant unharmed between their bodies.
